  • The slowly sinking scales show that this lonely little fish was part of a big school of sardines a short while ago. Her trying to escape is yo no avail. Along the sensitive bill of the sailfish she will glide into her end. Fish have a so called lateral line, a series of small holes on their flanks that are sensitive to water movements. After countless hours of studying the sailfish’ hunting behavior, I am convinced their bills must be packed with these cells too. They can follow their prey so unbelievable fast that it seems they are almost glued to their prey.
