  • Giclée prints?
  • .
  • When making giclée prints the original painting is first photographed digitally. This digital file is compared to standard light with the original image and all disturbing reflections and fabrics are carefully extracted from the file. Giclée is derived from the French verb gicler, which means, among other, splashing or spraying. When printing a giclée print a spray of millions of tiny ink jets is continuously sprayed on a carrier. A giclée print is  being checked for color, printed one by one  and subsequently critically monitored for quality, in close cooperation with the artist himself. This is recognizable by the handwritten number and signature of the artist himself. Due to the high quality and fade-resistant inks and paper used, a good giclée print is much more durable than other types of reproductions.

  • Overall, a good giclée print is printwise of a undeniable scoreless and absolute grid-less quality and, given the current possibilities, the most accurate reproduction of an original work.
