  • This pencil sketch is then transferred to a panel. At least five coats of acrylic paint must be applied to obtain sufficient rich color and opacity. Once these base colors are in place, the use of specially applied layers of thinned paint creates exactly the depth and atmosphere for which Jeroen’s work is so famous.

  • By now you may think this sounds like a rather tedious process. Well, it really is. Ultimately, however, Jeroen’s ‘3-2-3-2 system’, combined with his natural knowledge, guarantees a totally original and very realistic painting of a wild animal. Even though this animal has never been seen by him exactly like that in reality, but only in his fantasy.
