‘Duck hunt’

- A female goshawk grabbed a mallard on a foggy and late winter morningt. While looking for a suitable plucking spot, she is startled by us and quickly swings to the left, almost capsizing due to her heavy prey. A gap in the willows is her escape route. In addition to awe and wonder for this beautiful bird of prey, I also wanted to use this painting to depict atmosphere and drama. Where the beautiful colors of the duck make a contrast with the drabness of the misty willow forest and where the mallard barely realizes that mating season seems to be over
