‘In the nettle forest’
.

- Do not come too close to those damn nettles! But when you do – carefully – you will discover a great plant whose name, thanks to an ingenious defense system of stinging hairs, is known to everyone. These hairs are poison filled little needles with a barb at the top. It will hook itself into your skin; the needle breaks easily, and the poison can spread oh so fine. But this very young roe deer fawn has found a nice and quiet place to hide in the middle of the day. A couple of times each day mum comes to feed her briefly, but the rest of the time she is all alone by herself.
